- The attached image and what you see or read in it is just one of the billions of scenes of genocide, barbarism, and holocaust that the predatory Israeli state, armed with the vast arsenals of the U.S., U.K., France, and Germany, and with the staunch support of the U.S., the European Union, and the entire camp of democracy, has inflicted on the millions of cursed Palestinian workers. Palestinians protest that countless bombs have been dropped on residential buildings filled with refugees, leading to the deaths of families like Alma’s. Her relatives share a photo with us. It shows Alma smiling while surrounded by a group of six young cousins (Alma is in the middle in the top row of the picture). All of them are dead, except for her. They, along with her immediate family, were killed in the December 2, 2023, airstrike. Alma stands at the center, and the cousins who were killed in the reported airstrike are around her?. How many Almas now remain, robbed of their mothers and fathers
- According to initial data collected by researchers from the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, the war will have created at least 20,000 orphans by the end of February 2024. This independent NGO, supported by the European Union, operates in Gaza. According to the center, the actual number may be higher, but due to the difficulties and dangers of accessing information in Gaza, it cannot be confirmed. Alma plays with her cousin Sami on a piece of dirt between rows of tents, jumping from one field to another. She looks happy and calm. It’s just another moment of forgetfulness. Let’s delve into the roots of Zionist crimes, all the states that support it, and how it all began.
- The long road leading to the establishment of the state of Israel was engineered by Jewish bourgeoisie and supported actively—economically, politically, militaristically, and ideologically—by the largest poles of global capital, both partners and rivals. It’s a brazen and monstrous lie that these capitalists or their global partners supposedly had some old wound of “Jewish homelessness” on their hearts and wanted to give millions of displaced Jews in the world a homeland! The one thing they did not think about and did not deem worthy of thought was this very homelessness, the oppression of millions of “Jews” or any other accursed peoples of the world. In this process, several important points must be clarified.
- It’s obvious that the roots of exploitation, oppression, subjugation, genocide, homelessness, poverty, and hunger of both past and present humanity lie in the dominant form of production and the socio-economic relations. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, or any other religion or sect has merely served as a poisonous weapon of the exploiters to crush the consciousness, will, and struggle of the exploited and oppressed masses. The loudly proclaimed scenarios of “anti-Semitism,” “the historical homelessness of the Jewish people,” and “the continual massacres of Jews” were also among these weapons. This weapon was specifically used before the outbreak of the First World Imperialist War to facilitate the establishment of the Israeli state, fulfilling the well-planned strategies, objectives, and tactics of the ruling global capitalist elites. In the early 19th century, as the first efforts were made, two separate organizations, the “Bible Society” and the “Palestine Society,” were established in “Britain,” which had been the headquarters of the most sinister imperialist capitalist expansion plans. After a while, the second society summarized its strategic findings into a specific slogan: “No country or place in the world is as important to us as Palestine. No land deserves such recognition and study.” In 1865, another organization, the “Palestine Exploration Fund,” emerged, which began recruiting capitalists, intellectuals, academics, influential personalities, and prominent figures from giant financial and industrial entities.
This coalition of bourgeoisie saw their strengthened position, expanded ownership, and desired profits and dominance tied to the establishment of the state of Israel in Palestine or elsewhere. They were sufficiently knowledgeable about the philosophies, policies, and strategic issues of the world and viewed ethnicity and religion as a suitable pretext for their inhumane alliance on one side and a powerful weapon to manipulate the rebellious, slaughtered masses under the guise of “Judaism” on the other.
They knew all of this well. “Zionism,” as a reactionary and anti-human movement, was founded in these very research societies! Figures like “Theodor Herzl” and “Leo Pinsker” were among the leaders of this fascist bourgeois alliance. At that time, in the historical conditions mentioned above, the soft-hearted capitalists, grieving over the historical homelessness of the “Jewish people”!! were far ahead of all other competitors in terms of their astronomical volumes of capital and skyscraping profits. The giant financial and industrial conglomerate “Rothschild” in Germany controlled the production and added value cycles of many European countries and had its dominance in planning and policymaking.
The owners and managers of its Austrian branches all bore special medals of aristocracy, and they owned the largest banks in London, monopolizing the British banking system. Between 1813 and 1815, when Britain was simultaneously fighting the U.S. and Napoleon’s army, “Nathan Meyer Rothschild,” one of the shareholders of this gigantic economic conglomerate, loaned the British government a sum exceeding today’s £7 billion to cover the immense war costs. These so-called “Jewish” capitalists had such a standing and held such colossal volumes of capital that, by this time, many of them were fully prepared to support the movement called “Zionism.” “Baron James de Rothschild,” one of the owners of this colossal trust, took a significant share of the costs of sending scattered Jews from around the world to the Middle East and Palestine.
He formed the “Jewish Immigration to Palestine Alliance” and, by purchasing 125,000 hectares of land, played a crucial role in paving the way for the establishment of Israel. By the early 1880s, a group of capitalists, academics, theorists, and political activists from Russia also launched a campaign under the name “The Bilu Movement” and expressed their support for the racist bourgeois Zionism. They declared their readiness to send a large number of Russian Jews to Palestine. The first Jewish immigrant villages in Palestine were established by this group and played a role in the formation process of Israel.
Zionist bourgeois apartheid expanded its efforts to attract more capitalists from large international corporations, political and military representatives, and the bourgeoisie, especially from the U.S. and Europe. In 1879, the “First Zionist Congress” was held in Basel, Switzerland. “Herzl” became its leader, and the formal establishment of the “World Zionist Organization” was the first fascist, imperialist achievement of the Basel Congress. The participants, with a firm anti-human resolve, insisted on using all forms of violence to advance their goals. At the end of the congress, they issued a four-point declaration, which they made available to the press and the public.
The delegates at the First Zionist Congress, held in Basel.,
1. The goal of Zionism is the rapid establishment of Israel as a Jewish state in Palestine. This state will serve as the headquarters of Western capitalist dominance in the Middle East, acting as the “civilization” outpost against “barbarism”!! It will solidify imperialist capitalist expansion in the region and globally.
2. The forced migration of all Jews worldwide to the new country, turning it into a militarized bastion filled with guns, artillery, terror, and genocide. This scenario was dressed up in the guise of providing a homeland for displaced Jews to justify the imperialist nation-building of the Jewish bourgeoisie and their partners and supporters in Western Asia. Additionally, it would provide the cheap labor these capitalists needed.
3, 4. Efforts to win over the “Ottoman rulers” to the Zionist bourgeoisie’s plan for occupation, ethnic cleansing, genocide, and war-making in Palestine
With the end of the Basel Congress and the publication of the four-point declaration, Zionist capitalists prepared with all their might to achieve their goals. Their first step was the establishment of the “Jewish Colonial Trust” in 1898. Britain, which had been the undisputed leader of global capitalism up to that time, exploiting hundreds of millions of workers and peasants and ruling over 450 million people and 33 million square kilometers of the world, took on the mission of starting the implementation of this agenda. They led the way, and the sirens of genocide blared. This was done with the issuance of the “Balfour Declaration.”
The declaration, published in November 1917, was essentially the birth certificate of the “Jewish state” in Palestine, a license for a long series of brutal massacres, ethnic cleansings, and hour-by-hour bloodshed and destruction. It is particularly striking that the text of the declaration was exactly what had been sent privately by “Arthur James Balfour,” the British Foreign Secretary, in a letter to “Baron Walter Rothschild,” the German Jewish capitalist, and one of the biggest financiers and industrialists of the time. The time between the issuance of the Balfour Declaration and 1948, when the storm of killings began, and the bloodshed and continuous destruction in Palestine began, spanned over 30 years. The publication of that declaration was not the start of the story but the culmination of a long period of preparation for all the aggression, barbarism, and atrocities that followed. The oppressed Palestinian masses have been feeling the fire of global capitalist rage, occupation, and exploitation not just for 75 years but for 130 years, on top of all the other forms of oppression, injustice, and mass slaughter inflicted by this system on their flesh, skin, and bones. The establishment of Israel in 1947, following this long process of events, was approved by the United Nations General Assembly as a “Jewish state” with the agreement of the “United States of America,” which had already taken the lead in global capitalism.
Number of Palestinians worldwide doubled 10 times since Nakba, official figures show.
The Palestinian people and masses of workers throughout the world have since witnessed Zionism’s continued, day-to-day ethnic cleansing and bloodletting as the militarized apparatus of a genocidal capitalist force.
The establishment of Israel in 1947, following the long process of the above events, was approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations under the name and title of a “Jewish State” with the agreement of the competing and hostile poles of the global bourgeoisie. The Deir Yassin massacre took place on April 9, 1948, when Zionist paramilitaries attacked the village of Deir Yassin near Jerusalem, Mandatory Palestine, killing at least 107 Palestinian villagers, including women and children. Matthew Hogan writes that approximately two-thirds of the victims were women, children (by sexual violence)
The shared opinion of both capitalist camps, America and the western allies on the one hand, the “Soviet Union” and its satellites on the other hand, seems surprising or questionable, but this consensus is an internal link with the goals that determine the foundation and direction of the scenario and It was organic. The Palestinian resistance and liberation movement did not have and does not have a nationalist solution. In the scope of sticking to the strategies of the screw version of the bourgeoisie, it is not able to achieve any victory. This is a statement that we have stated for decades and what has happened in recent months is a clear confirmation of its correctness. In short, the existence of the Israeli state is a broad table for all the partner, rival, friend, antagonistic sections of the bourgeoisie, even the secular, religious, right, and left Palestinian bourgeoisie. A table whose wideness was paid for every moment by the non-stop slaughter of successive generations of Palestinian workers and toilers. The more the wage slavery system falls into the swamp of degeneration, the more capitalism, fascism, nationalism, pan-Islamism, the Islamic regime, al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Boko Haram, ISIS, the Tea Party, the more the determination of the camp of democracy and the western pole of capitalism for the next generation. The bloodshed in Palestine became even more terrifying. As much as democracy, democratic anti-discrimination, nationalist anti-occupation or any movement without a basis against wage labor became more corrupt, the genocide of the bourgeoisie became more explosive, and the so-called “Palestinian resistance” movement became more oppressed. With the cancerous emergence of the Islamic regime and its desire for a greater share of property, power, and sovereignty in the region and the world, the vulnerability of the anti-occupation, anti-genocide campaign of the Palestinians is more intense and the wave of genocide, burning humanity, and the destruction created by the rulers of Israel and America in Palestine. It became stormier. The course of events has been like this and now it has entered a phase as if history has been spoken to report the capacity of capitalism’s murderous outburst and human tolerance against the barbarism and human arson of this system. What has happened is a treasure of lessons and learning. It was capital that planted the seeds of all genocides, crimes and holocausts. More importantly, the burning of humanity was not an accident, nor a choice or preference, but was and is a forced necessity and a condition for the survival of wage slavery. If we accept this fact, we must also accept that the liberating campaign of the working and toiling Palestinian masses should have followed the path of anti-capitalism from the beginning and carried the baggage of anti-capitalism. The largest part of the global rabid bourgeoisie was the ally and supporter of the Jewish fascist bourgeoisie that brought the establishment of Israel to its destination. The fight against this inhumanity was and is the matter of the working class and the labor movement of the world.
One of the greatest conquests of capitalism is that all the social possibilities of the class struggle of the workers of the world have been sealed as impossible and this impossibility has been engraved on the consciousness of the working masses. In this transition, of course, the left claimed to be the flag bearer of the liberation of the working class. The impossibility of joining the liberation of the cursed Palestinians to the class struggle of the world’s workers has been of the same kind and of the products of the brainwashing machine of capital. It was under the influence of this engineering of capitalist ideas that what was formed under the name of the Palestinian freedom movement was actually devoid of all the indicators that guarantee victory. Beating the drum of nationalist anti-occupation, the Palestinian homeland, the formation of two states, and similar illusions was not the only way to any victory, which continuously wore this movement down, drove it into the abyss of destruction, captured defeat after defeat, and led it towards failure. All organizations, groups, Palestinian political forces from left to right, secular to religious did so, there is no denying the differences, the difference between Islamic reaction and secular left-wing nationalism is evident. The liberation of the Palestinian workers is the matter of the protesting mass of the global working class. This protest has now caught fire and can become more inflamed every day. The tragedy is that even the young generation of the working class of Palestine has not contemplated the heat, the greatness of the miraculous power of this flammability. At least at the global level, in the last twelve months, this generation has played every role, every success it has achieved has been in the light of the companionship, coexistence, and comradeship of the working masses of the world. It was the workers who stopped the train carrying government weapons to Israel from moving, they forced the governments’ ammunition ships for Israel to stop and unload at the ports. It was the workers who made the first day of May this year in the city of Chicago, in the birthplace of International Labor Day, the day of the campaign against any aid of the capitalist governments to Israel, the genocide of the global bourgeoisie in Palestine. It is the young generation of the international working class that has made all the universities of America and France a bastion of the campaign to support Palestine. Anti-genocide marches and protests of several thousand, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, and even millions of people have been organized by the workers, the young generation of this class, and the power in the streets. Palestinian youths are witnessing these solidarity, support, and internationalist connections of their peers with open eyes, but unfortunately, they still have an eye on parties, personalities, elites, and evils. They should learn from what happened and make this lesson a weapon of their class liberation campaign.
